Intro Note
Hi All,
This is my introduction. I'll keep it short and sweet.
I have been making tumblers for the past two years. My sister sent me a picture of a tumbler her friend made. Then of course without even searching, tumblers started coming into my feeds. I was hooked.
First guinea pig, my mom. I made a glitter galaxy theme tumbler. It was easy and based on videos I'd seen; it all seems to come together in the end. Next, my mother-in-law. Another galaxy theme tumbler.
Okay now we're gaining some confidence, ready to try something new. I took a couple wine glasses from the Dollar Tree and decided to make some festive wine glasses.
Naturally, if you have Cricut, it's going to make it so easy to customize your tumblers. I have a Cricut Air One. Nothing fancy about it, but it works fine. I feel like I'm finally getting the best use out of it. My husband has started making tumblers as well. He's made some really cool ones with a masculine feel.
I want to start selling them, I actually have a couple on my etsy store. Here's the link. I sell tumblers and also a couple other things that I craft.
Check out some of my work below:
This is the first one I made, I gave this to my mom for her birthday. I basically, just threw everything together. I started with white spray paint and added different colors of glitter in streaks. I sprayed a clear spray paint to keep the glitter from falling off and then I added a coat of epoxy and some milky colored acrylic paint for the galaxy look.
My husband bought me a pack of clear diner cups. This is one of my favorites! It has a milky, marbly look. I used metallic acrylic paint and silvery colored paint for the swirls. This cup stays in my camping trailer most of the time. I finished it off with some silver and white iridescent glitter for that fun sparkly look.
I brushed on a layer of Modge Podge and then wrapped the tumbler with some pre-measured fabric. You can get about two cups out of the fat quarter.
After wrapping the cup, I added a few more layers of Modge Podge (like 5-6). Then I added a layer of epoxy with a little bit of black glitter mixed in and once, dried another layer of epoxy with nothing added and done.
My neighbor saw this one I and used around Halloween time and wanted to order one for a co-worker. Super cute, I think! This would be cool as a glow-in-the-dark cup. Hmm, I might just do that! I'll let you know.
This is one my recent cups. It's ready to be customized. I LOVE the way this one looks. I made this for a friend but she cancelled on me, so I ended up keeping it. It's currently waiting for its new home. Any takers? Visit my etsy shop, you'll find it there.
This one also has a quick video of the finished cup.
